Well I'll be a honey biscuit. In over 40 years on this planet I'd never been to a Bob Evans. And I had no plans on going. Ever. But a certain person I was traveling with INSISTED we visit the original. We had breakfast at 4pm and it was excellent. Food was terrific. Service was down home friendly and the restaurant was clean and well run. I need a nap from the biscuit bowl but I shall return.

We had an awesome time at the 41st Annual Bob Evans family farm festival! Worth the hour long drive from Columbus and a real escape from the city life! Fun for people of all ages and so much do see and explore! You can see butter and cheese being made, milk a goat, try all kinds of yummy fresh foods and explore the whole farm including a tour of the original house Bob Evans lived in with his wife and all of the barns. Really a cool experience and we left stuffed and happy! Great homemade ice cream and the best pies ever! Fresh apple cider slush, amish cheese, apple butter, there is something for every taste bud and you don't have to spend a penny! I can recommend going here, its usually in October every year, it gets crowded but since it so big its spread out and there is plenty of parking! Enjoy a day of fresh air and fun at Bob Evans Orginal Farm!

HOLY CRAP! This is a chain that I'm sure many of you in the midwest are familiar with but I had my first adult experience with them today. OMG!!! After perusing their EXTENSIVE menu, I finally settled on the Homestead Plate - this consisted of eggs, sausage, hash browns, and "KICK your ass sideways" biscuits with an even more bad ass sausage gravy. I dropped about $8 on this plate but as I waddled out to the parking lot, I felt EVERY drop of fat was well worth it!

It was nice to finally see the Bob Evans Farm. However, they are under alot of construction. Building a Bob Evans Restaurant and renovating. So we didn't get to tour the whole place.

2 Words: Bob Evans. I had the opportunity to eat here and it was a great experience. It's was definitely the most crowded Bob Evans I've ever eaten at. I had breakfast like I always do. It's great to see the consistency of Bob Evans across the country. They have 144 different restaurants across the use. They have good prices and the service has always been good (for me). If you're passing through Rio Grande you should stop. You can even drive around the farm and see where the franchise all started since this is the first Bob Evans Restaurant.
